Lake Lillinonah Treatment Notification - 7/27

On Monday July 27th, 2026, Lake Lillinonah will be treated for Eurasian Milfoil and hydrilla. The aquatic herbicide(s) to be used are: Sonar for the Control of Hydrilla at the Bridgewater town launch, and Tribune and/or ProsellaCOR for the control of Eurasian Milfoil at Upper Lillinonah in Bridgewater.
There are no labeled restrictions for swimming, fishing, boating or water contact. In the treatment areas, irrigation can commence on August 3rd, livestock water on July 28th and drinking for consumption on July 30th.
Additionally, treatment will be done at and north of Poison Ivy Island up to the Lover's Leap Gorge for the control of invasive Hydrilla. One small section on the Shepaug River will also be treated for Hydrilla.
Funding for this hydrilla treatment is provided by the Grants for the Control of Aquatic Invasive Species Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
